Foster Parenting: A Leap towards Adoption

A family is supposedly composed of a loving mother, a hardworking father, and happy children. Well, at least this is the idea behind having a family. Although expected to be, families aren't always that ideal. However, its imperfection and flaws that make them unique and one of a kind. In the real world, families come in all its different forms, some are a little bit odd while others are fairly simple. But whatever they are comprised of and what ever they will be in the near future, they are still our own little family.

One unique type of family is foster parenting. Foster parenting provides temporary habitation, home, and care for children in crisis. It is part of the children's treatment, care, and support programs. However, if you think the foster parenting is only a mere unreceptive act of opening your abodes, providing comfortable clothing, and giving the children nourishing food, you are absolutely wrong. For some couples, it is even the closest thing and a supposed first step towards adoption.

Instead, foster parenting is a proactive testimonial of advocacy, nurturing, and love for these children. It may be ideal for couples to be foster parents; however this is not for everyone. If you think that foster parenting is just as easy as 1, 2, 3, you are absolutely wrong. There are certain requirements that need to be accounted for and each requirement varies by jurisdiction. It may be surrounded by principles such as monetary reimbursements or benefits to be given out to the foster family. The primary goal of foster care is to provide support for the children while the reunification with their parents, other family members, or any appropriate permanent living setting is still facilitated. This includes guardianship, placement with relatives, or to an adoptive home.

Children who are brought for foster parenting are the ones that were removed from their birth family due to reasons of abandonment, neglect, abuse, and other matters that endangers their lives and health. Most of these children are filled with confusion, anger, and fear for having been taken away from their only home. Some of them have physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems making it more complicated for foster parents to take care of them.

Nevertheless, they all need supportive and safe environment to go through life and foster parenting is their closest thing to home for the mean time. The children have all the right in the world to live happy and safely away from threat which they unfortunately once called home.

Nicole: Why? It's just the park I don't think its all that special. Kevin: You'll see. Just trust me *he leads her through the bushes to a private, hidden, small field. There is a picnic layed out complete with candles and sparkling champagne (one more year then they can drink...)* Nicole: Kevin this is beautiful! Kevin: and so are you. This will be the perfect night. *grabs her hand and pulls her onto the blanket* Nicole: This is the first time we've been alone, just the two of us. Now we can really get to know each other. Kevin: So you pretty much know everything about me. I'm Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers... Nicole: Yeah, I've done my research *laughing* I pretty much know everything about you. Kevin: Ok. *lays down and grabs Nicole by the waist so she is half laying on top of him* So tell me all about you. I want to know everything. Nicole: Well, *takes a deep breath* I'm not sure I should tell you this. But I trust you. Kevin: Ok... *pulls her in tighter* Nicole: *feeling comforted and more confident with her decision* well, I grew up in foster care. My mother died from cancer when I was just a baby and my sister died when I was 7. my dad was abusive and one day he got really mad and took it all out on my sister. She died from the beating. Kevin: Nicole I'm so sorry. What was her name? Nicole: Her name was Melissa. Once she died, it was just me and my dad. That's when all my problems started. I was 9 at the time of my sister's death and it was really hard for me to deal with. My dad would make me come to his room every night, saying that he would comfort me, when he really just... *breaks down into tears* Kevin: Its ok Nicole, *strokes her hair* you don't have to finish. Nicole: *wiping away the tears* No, I'll be fine. So as I was saying, all he really did was rape me. Kevin: He what?!? Nicole: He would rape me every night, saying that it was ok for him to do this because he was my dad. I didn't know that this was wrong until I was 13. I finally told a teacher and she called Child Services. I was put into foster care and my dad was sentenced to prison for awhile. Kevin: Is he still in prison? Nicole: I don't know and I don't want to know. As long as I never have to see him again! *cuddles up next to Kevin and lays her arms across him chest* Kevin: Don't worry. You'll never ever have to see him again. You'll always stay with me and ill never hurt you. Nicole: Promise? Kevin: Promise. And to prove it to you * pulls out a small black box* I got you this. Nicole: *opens the box to find a necklace with a heart on it with the inscription True Love* Kevin thank you! Kevin: I love you *kisses her passionately. Soon Nicole is on top of Kevin and he starts to kiss her neck. She starts to move her hand along his chest. Kevin strokes Nicole's leg and starts to take his shirt off. Nicole removes hers as well and starts to unzip her pants. All of a sudden, they hear a rustling in the bushes...* omj who is in the bushes????? hahahah dun dun duuuuuuuun yeah i couldnt space it out so if its too hard to read im sorry. if i spaced it out youtube wouldnt let me post it... comment/subscribe please
